The Explanation of the Relation between Religious Orientation and Work Ethic: A Case Study of Urmia University Staff

Abstract
Paying attention to work ethic is one of the success factors of every organization and is more related to the individual and organizational factors that are present in human forces and organizations rather than being influenced by the code of ethics and rules that organizations use to fulfill it. This study has dealt with the statement of the relation between religious orientation and work ethic among Urmia university staff. to reach the purpose of the study, 200 staff of Urmiauniversity have been chosen randomly to answer the questionnaires of the religious orientation and work ethic. The gathered data was analyzed through multivariate variance analysis and multivariate regression analysis. The results of the study revealed that 1- there is a positive and significant relation between religious orientation and all dimensions of work ethic 2- religious orientation ( intrinsic and extrinsic) can positively and significantly predict dependability, hard work and consideration. the results showed that religious orientation has a positive and significant relation with work ethic and intrinsic religious orientation is a significant predictor for dependability, hard work and consideration.
