THE FACES OF F.V. BULGARIN IN THE M.Y. LERMONTOV`S WORKS

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the art mechanisms of the reconstruction of Bulgarin`s literary, moral and political reputation in works by poet. The first Lermontov`s ideas about Bulgarin`s literary and moral character found the expression in his adolescent poem «Romance» («Dissatisfied with insidious life»). The Lermontov`s destructive assessment «low slanderer» is aimed on exposing of Bulgarin`s author’s strategy in his articles in «The Edinburgh Gazette», «Letter to the publishers of the «Northern Bee»», in which false idea about Shevyrev as the poet and critic was imposed to the reader. Focusing not only on Pushkin’s tradition, but also on invectives of «literary aristocrats», Lermontov denounces the Bulgarin`s mercenary essence, which acquires semantic dimension and stereoscopy in the texts. Discrediting the famous writer and his characters in veiled form can be seen in the novel «A hero of our time», in particular, in the character of Grushnitsky, which «epigrammatically» addressed to the main character of the novel «Ivan Ivanovich Vyzhigin». In the conclusion it is noted that the basic techniques of the reconstruction Bulgarin`s odious reputation in the works of the poet are the subtext, the invective as a type of artistic speech, intertextual markers.
