The false correlations in the research of violent crime

Abstract
The article demonstrates on the example of one of the criminological studies in which it is asserted that there is a correlation between the dynamics of the level of violent crime and the dynamics of inequality in the distribution of the incomes of the population, it has been, that the use of the linear regression method in criminological researches is most often unreasonable, because it is based on a false correlation. It is used another example of a possible correlation, it is shown that correlation links can be established by this method between completely unrelated phenomena.
