THE FORMATION OF HISTORICAL CONSCIOUSNESS AGAINST GENERIC REFLECTION

Abstract
Along with became widespread universalistic idea in 17th century it is arised to requirement of reconstruction identifying a set of common principle in the fields of knowledge, morals, art, politics etc. According to this approach, principles which are identified by reasoning can appeal to humanity. In addition to this, it is supposed that common principles which are product of mind are sufficient to embrace realities of life. Thinkers such as Vico and Herder reacted to this approach and they defended that we must understand each reality of life in their own context of historicity. The other original point of these thinkers is that to want to grasp effort of understanding within the life. In the study, it is tried to reveal basic criticsims of historicist approaches against universalistic idea of the cartesian philosophy.
