The formation of legal aid in the civil process during the period of independence of Ukraine.

Abstract
The article examines main milestones of the development of the legal aid institute in the civil process during the period of independence of Ukraine. The evolution of the adoption of normative legal acts on legal aid is ana- lyzed and assessed. Particular attention is paid to the strengths and weaknesses of the reforms that were carried out by the Ukrainian legislator in one or another period of time. The constitutional reform of 2016, which substantially changed the institution of legal aid in Ukraine, is analyzed separately.
