The Functional-Semantic and Pragmatic Peculiarities of Actualization of Verbal Interaction Stereotypical Signs

Abstract

Permanent processes of additional functional load of nominative and communicative units of different levels and structural types in lexical-semantic system of language have never lost their relevance. The pragmatics of communication itself suggests the need for relevant modification of the semantics and functions of words, phrases , and free modelled sentences which act both as means of objectivation of the world’s realities and its emotional and expressive markings. The article focuses on the functional-semantic parameters and pragmatic-expressive features of the functioning of relatives – recurrent sign forms of dialogical and situational reaction as a way of expressing subjective modality in the context of communication. The sentences-relatives with a high degree of idiomaticity are the kernel units of the functional lexicalgrammatical field of relatives. The peripheral zone consists of sentences-relatives in which the actual rheme and theme division of their components is quite possible. The pragmatic-semantic polyfunctionality of certain sentences are based on enantiosemy, that is, on the semantic polarization realized through combining the semantics of words with opposite meanings and irony, which is supported by a special intonational contour. It is stated that there exist homonymous forms in the classes of phrases and sentences which enter into homophrasal relations of formally identical, but semantically divergent units at the level of phrases-relatives and sentences-relatives. The presence of similar or different mutual expectations or beliefs of interlocutors, the involvement of the mechanisms of the perceptual aspects of communication make possible the active use of relatives as fixed stereotyped forms of intentionally conditioned communication strategy.
