The Global Teacher and the Legacy of Janusz Korczak. An Online Course at Haifa University (2017-2018)

Abstract

The paper presents new technological possibility to disseminate the pedagogy of Janusz Korczak, which is very useful in terms of needs that modern world demands from teachers and students: citizenship and engagement. The roots of humanistic education are tested in the global network environment. It is an experimental and quite a novel way to engage international audience in participating in academic and non-academic courses online. The paper describes the course content, the process of tuition and the outcomes, including students' and lecturers' reflections. It may become a baseline for international cooperation in dissemination of Janusz Korczak's heritage and beyond<br/><br/>
