The Guidelines for the Development of Logistics Learning Organization

Abstract
Main objectives of the research are (1) to study the level of development as a logistics learning organization; (2) to study the level of factors of development as a logistics learning organization; (3) to study the comparison of the development as a logistics learning organization according to the sizes of organization; (4) to study the comparison of factors of development as a logistics learning organization according to the sizes of organization; (5) to study that have an influence towards the development as a logistics learning organization; and (6) to study the pattern of development as a logistics learning organization of Thailand. As for the collection of data, the method of in-depth interviews and questionnaires was applied. This method of in-depth interviews was used for interviews of 10 high-level executives of logistics provider organizations. For questionnaires, they were used with a group of 309 logistics organizations, 25 of which were large size, 107 were medium size, and 177 were small size organizations respectively. The results found that the level of development as logistics learning organization of the medium-size logistics provider organization appeared to have higher level than that of large-size and small-size logistics provider organizations; the levels of factor of development as logistics learning organization of large-size and medium-size logistics provider organizations appeared to be higher than that of small-size logistics provider organization. The result of this study also found that logistics organizations of different sizes appeared to have different developments as logistics learning organization, and different sizes of logistics organization appeared to have different levels of development as logistics learning organization. The factor which best had influences towards the development as logistics learning organization of the large-size logistics organization was the leadership that reinforced the learning, while the factors which had best influence towards the development as logistics learning organization of medium-size logistics organization was the knowledge management, concrete learning process, followed by supportive learning environment, sharing of opinion, and the last of all the learning of people. For the factors which best had influences towards the development as logistic learning organization of the small-size logistics organization was supportive learning environment, the leadership that reinforces the learning, followed by organization management, concrete learning process and practices, the learning of organization, and the last of all the knowledge management. On the whole, it can be concluded, by this study of the development as logistic learning organizations which affects the state of being a logistics learning organization, that the leadership that reinforces the learning, the supportive learning environment, the concrete learning process, and the knowledge management, all have an influence towards the development as a logistics learning organization of Thailand.
