The heroes forgotten by their descendants?

Abstract
The article tells about the participation of 254th Nikolaev Infantry Regiment, formed in the city of Nikolaev, in World War I (1914-1918). It is about a tragic ordeal – gas attack, as a result of which more than thousands soldiers of this regiment were killed and poisoned under the city Smorgоn on June 20th in 1916, on the Belarusian land. The examples of the exploits of lower ranks soldiers of this regiment are given and their awards received for this are described.
