THE HIRSCH INDEX – A MULTIPLE USE SCIENTOMETRIC INDICATOR
Journal Title: Journal of Science And Arts - Year 2013, Vol 23, Issue 2
Abstract
The paper presents an overview on Hirsch-index applications that can be found in the literature. Different possibilities of using the Hirsch-index for the assessment of the scientific output of a country, university, research institute, medicine, specialists or academic journals are presented. On the other hand we have examined the Valahia University of Targoviste (UVT) researchers’ scientific productivity and we found a lack of correlation with the scientific research activity attributed to the institution.

USE OF THE MEDIAN IN THE ANALYSIS OF EXPERIMENTAL DATA
The concept of median is defined. The advantage of the median in special cases and the comparison with the classical arithmetical mean and weighted mean are presented. The case of discrepant results is analyzed. The calc...
DE-NOISING KIDNEY ULTRASOUND ANALYSIS USING HAAR WAVELETS
In medical image processing, image de-noising has become a very essential exercise all through diagnose. A novel approach for the kidney ultrasound de-noising at multiple scales using the wavelet frame analysis was prese...
ROLE OF THE RADIONUCLIDE METROLOGY IN QUALITY ASSURANCE OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL PHYSICS MEASUREMENTS
This paper presents some aspects of the technical support offered by the Radionuclide Metrology laboratory from IFIN-HH in the field of environmental physics measurements. -The development of the basis of installations...
VIZIBLE SPECTRUM SINGLE PHOTON DETECTION MODULE
[b]Experiments using entangled photons and their applications require the detection of extremely weak light beams: the incoming photons arrive to the detector one at a time. Visible spectrum single photon detection is a...
RHEOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF MINERAL OIL
In this article presents us rheological behavior of mineral oil. Apparent viscosity of mineral oil was determined at temperatures between 400C-900C and shear rates ranging from 3.3-120s-1. This study is to find a polynom...
