The ideology of political parties: methodological principles of research

Abstract
The paper established that against the backdrop of a large number of definitions of “ideology” appropriate for effective empirical studies, including the ideologies of political parties are the development and application of its minimal definition. Two categories of analysis of party ideologies are singled out: ideological identity of the party and ideological consistency of the party. The effectiveness of using content analysis, discourse analysis and a priori judgments to determine the ideological identity of the party is substantiated.
