THE IMAGE AND ROLE OF WOMEN IN THE FUNERAL AND LAST RITES OF THE UKRAINIANS

Abstract
This article examines the actual problem of the role and image of women in funeral and memorial rites of the Ukrainians. The female character is the lead in a number of rites of the family cycle – starting from birth and ending with a funeral. Details analyzes the characteristics of the ritual action performed by the woman as object and subject in this interaction.
