The Imagination of Allah in of Sayf al-Din al-Amidi

Abstract
The subject of our research is concept of God that has been the oldest and an invariable matter in the history of thought. All thinkers and philosophers stated their views on this concept. Although members of divine religions had some common beliefs, their imagining of God had changed in the course of time. Essential aspects of belief in God did not change much through the history of theology, philosophy and sufism. But this does not include the details. In this article, we will explain al-Amidi’s understanding of Allah. Because he thought that some of the predecessor Islamic philosopher’s understanding of Allah was wrong, based on his interpretation of Qur’an. He believed that, by applying his "method of maturity" he offers an imagination of God which is according to the belief of Allah as Qur’an lets us know.
