The Impact of the National Culture Dimension and Corruption on Students’ Moral Competencies – Research Results

Abstract
Today’s university students will be tomorrow’s business managers. Recognition of thistruth by scholars may explain the proliferation of research regarding ethical behavior ofuniversity students in general, and business students in particular, over the past 15-20years. Many scholars see the genesis of the crisis of the business world’s ethical valuesin applied methods for developing students’ moral competence during their universityeducation.Criticism of business education as well as its significance and responsibility for theethical climate of the business world inspired the authors to define the following researchquestion: “What is the impact of national culture and the perception of corruption onstudents’ moral competencies?” In this paper was presented research results for Indonesia,Poland, and the United States about the influence of national culture dimensions andcorruption perception on students’ moral competences.
