The Impact of Usability Problems on the Perceived Usefulness and Perceived Enjoyment of an Augmented Reality Learning Scenario
Journal Title: Romanian Journal of Human - Computer Interaction - Year 2011, Vol 4, Issue 3
Abstract
Augmented reality technologies create new opportunities to increase students’ motivation to learn. The integration of real objects in a computing environemnt requires specific interaction techniques which are making more difficult the development of usable applications in this area. Individual usability evaluation methods have specific advantages but also limitations when used in isolation. This suggests as appropriate a mixed research methodology. This paper presents an analysis of the impact of usability problems on the perceived usefulness and perceived enjoyment that is based on the triangulation of quantitative and qualititative data.

This article presents a proposal for construction of a guide which aims to contribute to the lack of guidelines for the design of therapeutic interfaces for attention deficit disorder in children, and describes the first...
A need, no app: just do it! But do people support dynamic composition of interactive systems for fulfilling emergent needs?
In Human Computer Interaction engineering, both the context of use (<user, platform, environment>) and the user task (<goal, procedure>) are supposed to be set at design time. However, in ubiquitous computing, the contex...
Model-Driven Engineering of User Interfaces: Promises, Successes, Failures, and Challenges
Model-driven engineering (MDE) of user interfaces consists in describing a user interface and aspects involved in it (e.g., task, domain, context of use) in models from which a final interface is produced. With one bi...

Interactive Video Interface For Embedded Systems
This paper presents an original solution to display information on embedded systems by generating a composite video signal. For simplicity, this signal is generated without the use of additional circuits. At present such...
