THE IMPERATIVES OF THE FORMATION OF A GLOBAL KNOWLEDGE ECONOMY

Abstract
The article presents an analysis of the imperatives of the development of the knowledge economy with the identification of five main stages of its formation and formation. Considerable attention is paid to the interpretation of the term “knowledge economy” with the definition of its retrospective development. The differences in the areas between the postindustrial economy and the knowledge economy in the context of economic development, entrepreneurship and labor are determined. The specifics of the functioning of the knowledge economy at the beginning of the 21st century are justified.
