THE INFLUENCE OF TEMPERATURE ON THE FLOW OF GREASE IN THE BOUNDARY LAYER

Abstract
The influence of temperature on superficial and boundary layers forming in commercial grease ŁT4-S2, in the vicinity of walls made of six different materials, i.e. two elastomeric materials (70E, 70F), two thermoplastic materials (PTFE, PU) and two metal alloys (B47, C11000), are presented in this paper. The studies were carried out by means of a rotational rheometer with a parallel plate measuring system. Curves of changes in dynamic viscosity and shear stress in the grease as a function of shear rate in the boundary layer at a temperature from -20°C to 60°C were determined.
