THE INFLUENCE OF THERMAL DEGRADATION OF ARAMID PAPER ON THE MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL PROPERTIES

Abstract
The rapid pace of technology and still increasing requirements for performance and reliability of equipment, entail the necessity searching for new and better materials. In terms of solid insulation used in large power transformers, one of the new insulating material has proved aramid paper and pressboard. Despite the much higher costs of its use (in comparison with the products of cellulose). Aramid used as insulating material is quickly gaining recognition among producers and users large power transformers. The paper presented the results of comparing the times of moisture cellulose and aramid paper. Additionally was presented the aging process of aramid paper and its influence on change of mechanical and electrical parameters of the tested insulation.<br/><br/>
