THE INFLUENCE OF TLR4 AND TLR7 GENE POLYMORPHISMS ON THE RATE OF LIVER FIBROSIS PROGRESSION IN PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC HEPATITIS C

Abstract
Th e study was aimed at determining the infl uence of Asp299Gly TLR4 and Gln1 1Leu TLR7 genetic polymorphisms on the rate of liver fi brosis progression in patients with chronic hepatitis C. To achieve this goal we have examined 39 patients with known duration of infection. In the course of the study it has beeb found: “mutant” Gln11Leu+Leu11Leu genotypes of TLR7 gene are in 3.4 times (F=0.019; OR=0.15 [95% CI 0.03-0.67], p=0.014) and 11Leu allele – 3.7 times (F=0,023; OR=0.20 [95% CI 0.05-0.78], p=0.021) more fre- quently registered in patients with a slow progression of liver fi brosis, that enables to consider them as the protective factors regarding the rate of liver fi brosis progression. No relationship between the presence of Asp299Gly polymorphism of TLR4 gene and the rate of liver fi brosis progression has been established in the examined patients.
