The Investigation of the Cavitation Phenomenon in the Laval Nozzle with Full and Partial Surface Wetting
Journal Title: Strojnicky casopis - Journal of Mechanical Engineering - Year 2017, Vol 67, Issue 1
Abstract
The article deals with the cavitation phenomenon affected by full and partial wetting of the wall. For the numerical computation of flow in the Laval nozzle the Schnerr-Sauer cavitation model was tested and was used for cavitation research of flow within the nozzle considering partial surface wetting. The coefficient of wetting for various materials was determined using experimental, theoretical and numerical methods of fluid flow due to partial surface wetting.

Thermo-Hydraulic Behaviour of Coolant in Nuclear Reactor VVER-440 Under Refuelling Conditions
The paper presents the numerical simulation of thermo-hydraulic behaviour of coolant in the VVER- 440 nuclear reactor under standard outage conditions. Heating-up and flow of coolant between the reactor pressure vessel...
Wave Coupling Analysis in the Elastic Waveguides of Quarter Wavelength Noise Absorbers
The analytical model of a fluid filled cylindrical shell is used to analyse the wave propagation in the quarter wavelength absorbers. It has been found, that due to the strong fluid-structure interaction, the considera...
Tracking Filter Design for Predictive Maintenance of Jet Engine – Different Approaches and their Comparison
The aim of this paper is to design, implement, test and compare several tracking filtration methods for predictive maintenance of a jet engine. Based on literature review multiple possible methods are described. Approp...
A New Cable-Pulley Algorithm in RFEM
The cable-pulley system is widely used for its advantages. In this paper, application of a new algorithm for the calculation of cables on pulleys is presented. Unlike other algorithms, this algorithm enables to take th...
OPTIMIZATION OF WELDING PROCESS USING A GENETIC ALGORITHM
Welding is a complex technological process in which local heating takes place up to the melting point of the connecting and the additional material. Phase and crystallization processes are a strong non-linear function...
