The Issue of National Minorities in Latvia

Abstract
The paper aims, in the first place, to describe the policies toward national minorities pursued by the Republic of Latvia as well as its policy response to the refugee crisis. The author also outlines the history of Latvia and its people – the meandering trajectory of what has evolved into the Latvian society of today. The paper is based on a book by the same author entitled System polityczny Łotwy i jego związki ze sferą gospodarczą w dobie trzeciej fali demokratyzacji [The Political Regime of Latvia and Its Links with the Economic Realm during Democracy’s Third Wave].
