The main peculiarities of the erotic concept in Ukrainian literature: some notes towards the problem

Abstract
This article deals with the concepts of Eros and Thanatos in Ukrainian literature. Their specific traits were revealed during the investigation in order to realize the peculiarities of Ukrainian culture in general. Every nation, respectively – and its culture, developed at the crossroads of influences of many regional forms of world culture. Ukraine is not an exception, and its culture has become a distinctive synthesis at the intersection of different civilizational models. Boundary character of Ukrainian culture leads eventually to organic cultural polyphony. Speaking about the erotic concept, the impact on the development of Ukrainian culture of many neigbouring traditions led to the emergence of dual erotic conceptosphere – «lubov/kohannia», which are the manifestations of duality in the intimate area. Despite its dual nature the analysed concept is a basic one and stands at the foundations of the ideological paradigms of Ukrainian culture in general. Moreover, understanding of the concept is highly motivated by personality traits due to his/her unique attitude, namely the interpretation of categories dictated by the system of images that writers create. Erotic concept in its scope occupies a prominent place in the Ukrainian conceptosphere, and therefore is one of the most studied issues of scientific knowledge. Literary reception of it is no exception. For example, among the authors of the recent research studies of erotic concept we would like to emphasize the works by I. Borysiuk (love in the poetry of the representatives of eighties), M. Varykasha (erotic discourse in epistolary texts of the twentieth century), V. Zavadskaya (eroticism lullabies), O. Mudrak (erotic poetry), A. Puhonska (erotic intertext) and others. Each of these authors turned to a particular aspect of the erotic, not individually referring to the characteristic features in its historical perspective. Thus, the aim of our research is a comprehensive analysis of the erotic concept within the Ukrainian literature, an example of which can be traced to mental features of national culture in general.
