THE MECHANISM OF BOUNDARY LAYER FORMATION INCLUDING TRIBOELECTRIC PHENOMENON
Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2011, Vol 235, Issue 1
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to reveal the mechanism of boundary layer formation. Significant concentrations of electrified particles, ions and non-neutral particles appear in the friction zone in appropriate conditions. Above particles cause intensive triboelectric phenomena and form as a separate layer conducting electric current and generates particles of elevated energy in the sliding zone that influence the boundary layer.

Analiza porównawcza zjawisk towarzyszących tarciu cienkich powłok ceramicznych w ruchu obrotowym, postępowym i postępowo--zwrotnym
W pracy porównano właściwości tribologiczne w ruchu postępowym, postępowo-zwrotnym i obrotowym w styku skoncentrowanym kula/płaszczyzna. Skojarzenie tarciowe stanowiła powłoka azotku wolframu o grubości 0,5 µm nałożona n...

ASSESSING THE PROPERTIES OF SINGLE AND MULTI-LAYER DLC COATINGS
The paper deals with the testing of single-layer DLC coatings (a:C:H:W, TiN/a:C:H:W, and CrN/a:C:H:W). The coatings were deposited on Co-Cr-Mo (BIODUR CCM Plus alloy) specimens using the PVD and PACVD processes. The topo...
THE ROLLING CONTACT FATIGUE OF WC/C COATED GEARS
The aim of the study was to investigate the resistance to rolling contact fatigue of WC/C coated gears. The test were done for lowfriction WC/C (a-C:H:W) coating. The coating was deposited using the PVD process by reacti...
INFLUENCE OF ELEVATED TEMPERATURE ON THE CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF BOUNDARY LAYERS FORMING IN THE PRESENCE OF AN ANTIWEAR ADDITIVE OF VEGETABLE ORIGIN
The effect of temperature on the chemical structure of boundary layers forming on steel surface during friction lubricated by poli-a-olefin oil containing antiwear additive of vegetable origin are investigated. The use o...
