THE MEDIATIZATION OF THE SOCIETY AND ITS IMPACT ON JOURNALISM

Abstract

In order to determine the development of mediatization the major characteristics of media human were implied. The distribution of media journalism and its functional features were under consideration during the process of the analysis. Mediatization penetrates to all aspects of the society. On one hand it opens new horizons of creativity and self-fulfillment for individuals, and on the other hand it makes them dependent on smartphones and com-puters, adjusting the perception of only simplified information with relaxing the capacity for critical think-ing. Seeing the unprecedented opportunities, people assume new social roles without having to profession-al skills. So almost every Internet user not only consumes information but also produces it acting as a jour-nalist or analyst, that blurs the boundaries of traditional media and fills the network with mostly useless news but one interesting for the mass. That leads to the fact that a person must acquire skills in infor-mation space travel, separating acquisition of benefit information from a waste of time. The Era of Social Human, with its traditions and values of physical interaction gradually replaced by a display way of life – always online, aware of everything, virtually active. Due to insufficient formation of this trend, its benefits are still controversial. The article deals with a fundamental change in the functioning of the society and the media under the in-fluence of the media and analyzes the effects of mediatization. The results of the investigation can be used for further study of mediatization.
