THE METHOD OF AUTOMATED MONITORING OF THE GASDYNAMIC ACTIVITY OF COAL SEAMS DURING PREPARATORY WORKINGS BASED ON REGIONAL FORECAST DATA

Abstract
A method of automated current control of the levels of gas-dynamic activity of coal seams is presented during preparatory workings based on geological survey data. The danger of initiating gas-dynamic phenomena, including sudden emissions of coal and gas, is the main factor affecting the pace of development workings. It is indicated that the use of data on methane abundance of development workings as an indicator of the gasdynamic activity of a coal seam with an assessment of its potential propensity for self-destruction made on the basis of regional forecast data may have a positive effect on improving the safety of mining when mining high-carbon coal seams. Quantifying the levels of gas-dynamic activity of a coal seam under development will improve the efficiency of mining, for example, in terms of a selective approach in the development of degassing measures.
