The monks teachers of the basilian gymnasium in Drohobych (1775 – 1780): biographical review

Abstract
The article shows circumstances foundation of the monastery and the main directions of its activities. The emphasis is made on teaching certain rules for the gymnasium. Staf¿ ng of teaching subjects are established. Based on biohram professors found their social and territorial origin, age and educational characteristics, stages of spiritual and intellectual formation. Key milestones pedagogical work of monks are filmed. Biographical information about monks who passed spiritual and educational formation, contributed to educational work among secular youth are collected. In this article the early period of operation since high school education (1775) in recognition of its time one of the leading educational centers of the Basilian Order (1780) is shown. It is determined that the educational training of monks, professors traditionally been driven by studies in the novitiate, studios rhetoric, philosophy, and theology at the Ponti¿ cal seminaries. Through the implementation of teachers duties the monastery functioned as a spiritual, cultural and educational center
