THE PERSON-ORIENTED CONCEPT OF MODERN MUSEUM FOREIGN PEDAGOGY

Abstract

The article analyzes the concept of modern personality museum education in foreign pedagogy. It is noted that the museum pedagogic tools are widely used in school practice in Ukraine and abroad and today there is a need to examine educational experience of foreign scientists about their implementation of museum pedagogic tools in the future teachers’ training. The article aims at the study of the person-oriented model represented in modern foreign museum pedagogy. It explains that foreign scientists used the museum pedagogic tools in order to make a positive influence on the formation of personality. In the article the essence of pedagogical scientific works of contemporary foreign scientists (Crystal L.B. Desvallées A., Mairesse F. Key A., Hooper-Greenhill Eilean, Talkboyz Greame R.) is described. It is said the function of museums in recent decades has changed and nowadays a myseum plays an important role in the life of schoolchildren. It is noted that student-oriented pedagogical and psychological concepts of educational space of the museum is very popular with foreign scientists. According to current research, visiting a museum is often stereotyped as an activity confined to those going on a school trip or to representatives of the middle or upper classes. In reality, however, a trip to a museum can be both enjoyed by all and a pleasurable and educational experience. The primary role of a museum is to be a source of education, whether through showcasing collections of cultural works such as pieces of art, telling a story of something, historical events, or raising awareness of a societal concern. Today, museums are more focused, than ever, on the promotion of a more interactive, wide-reaching educational experience. It is said that museums have made their exhibitions more enjoyable for children by making more interactive displays and introducing concepts such as quizzes or treasure hunts to keep children amused. It is very important to establish close scientific cooperation between schools and museums around the world.
