The Pharmacokinetics and Interactions of Ivermectin in Humans—A Mini-review
Journal Title: The AAPS Journal - Year 2008, Vol 10, Issue 1
Abstract
Ivermectin is an antiparasitic drug with a broad spectrum of activity, high efficacy as well as a wide margin of safety. Since 1987, this compound has a widespread use in veterinary medicine and it use has been extended in humans. Here we present a brief review of the information availabile regarding the pharmacokinetics and interactions of ivermectin in humans. Awareness of these characteristics could improve the clinical efficacy of Ivermectin. All Authors declare that they do not have any Conflict of interest and that the work is original. Investigation of the Ovarian and Prostate Cancer Peptidome for Candidate Early Detection Markers Using a Novel Nanoparticle Biomarker Capture Technology
Current efforts to identify protein biomarkers of disease use mainly mass spectrometry (MS) to analyze tissue and blood specimens. The low-molecular-weight “peptidome” is an attractive information archive...
A method to monitor DNA transfer during transfection
This report describes a method for monitoring the transfer of DNA during transfection. This method involves random labeling of plasmid DNA with fluorescein-12-dUTP, flow cytometric detection and sorting of the fluorescen...
Molecular recognition of opioid receptor ligands
The cloning of the opioid receptors and subsequent use of recombinant DNA technology have led to many new insights into ligand binding. Instead of focusing on the structural features that lead to increased affinity and s...
Biodegradable intraprostatic doxorubicin implants
Systemic chemotherapy is not effective in the treatment of prostate-confined cancer. We developed biodegradable, doxorubicin-loaded cylinders for intraprostatic implantation and evaluated the feasibility of using regiona...
Evaluation of Mucoadhesive PLGA Microparticles for Nasal Immunization
In this study, hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) loaded poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) microparticles were prepared and coated with chitosan and trimethyl chitosan (TMC) to evaluate the effect of coating material...
