THE POETIC OF THE HOUSEHOLD DETAIL IN THE TEMPTS OF EVGENIY NOSOV

Abstract

The article is devoted to the artistic methods of detailing the way of life of rural people in three stories by Yevgeny Nosov. The poetics of small things determine the enviroment in which the heroes of stories live, create a lyrical atmosphere and serve as a psychological background. The peculiarity of the writer’s manner is noted, thanks to which he created the atmosphere of the life of the villagers as if from within, he was able to convey that position (point of view) in whose prism «the life of these people» was seen. All this allows us to think about the special intensity of detailing the way in which the heroes see the world, by E. Nosov, in connection with which, the lyrical beginning of the narrative is revealed. The stories of E. Nosov are full of many details, reflecting the features of everyday life in the village. The works contain descriptions of houses, clothes, cooking, furnace stoves, washing clothes and other household chores. Most often they are only the elements of the life story, but they are very important in the artistic sense. Detailing the interior allows you to understand the nature of the rural way of life, and, what is very important, to observe the life that goes beyond the walls of the house in the collective farm village. The usual (domestic) everyday behavior of the characters of the stories reflects the spontaneity of being with its endless involvement of trivialities in actions that are illusive and subtele even from an attentive observer. These everyday trifles are connected by a narrator and presented as a product of the collective unconscious, it is not by chance, that they do not lend themselves to reflect on the subject of observation (or speech), but it is simply mentioned, its presence is noted. The heroes themselves do not seem to be tired of the monotony of everyday work, on the contrary — ordinary everyday matters are in some way the essence of their existence. It should be noted that the writer, depicting the daily routine of the village, simultaneously reveals the depth of the soul of his heroes, the existential and psychological state of the person living on earth.
