THE POLITICAL CRITICISM OF THE EXPLOITATION IN ŞEMSETTİN SAMİ’S PLAYS CALLED “BESA AND GAVE”

Abstract
All of three plays written as drama by Şemsettin Sami(1850-1904), who is one of the playwrights in Tanzimat Age, coincide with “national understanding” of the age “Besa Yahud Ahde Vefa” (1874), which is one of these and also evaluated as tradition theater, deals with the social life of muslim Albanians. While “Seydi Yahya” (1875) get sistopic from Andalosia history, “Gave” (1876) is based or Iranian mythology. All of these Works are based on history, society and culture. “Besa and Gave” deals with the political developments of the age in which they were written, also have a theater property being especially concerned with the mind of spectator than the sense of them. Many play such as these belonging to Tanzimat and Meşrutiyet Age, play an important role in the dissident political ideas, which is againist the oppressive dominant forces, reaching to different segments of society and also adapting by society. The political events in Turkish theater are firstly occured in plays called “orta oyun” in the folk theater and contain with social criticis mand satires. But the political aspects of theater begins to develop with Tanzimat Age in the modern sense in this age, the plays dealing with political issues area specially concerned with political and social problems. For example; in Şemsettin Sami’s mentioned works being the topic of our study, the discomfort reasoned by “İstibdat Age” and social disorders in political property, are them ostim portant issue. The purpose of this study is to determine the political reaction of auther in the context of explaitation and captivity based on the plays called “Base and Gave” and examining these works in the context.
