THE POTENTIAL OF INDEPENDENT WORK IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE TRAINING OF STUDENTS OF HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

Abstract

The article focuses on the role of individual work in the process of self-development and self-education of students in learning a foreign language. It is explored the potential of individual work in teaching university students a foreign language. The article proves the important place of students’ foreign languages independent study within the competence model of education, besides it present various types of tasks for independent study of students. It presented different approaches to the defi nition of individual work. The article proves the infuence of students’ motivation on the result of independent work, the factors that contribute to its effectiveness. It is suggested a number of guidelines to improve the quality standard of knowledge of a foreign language in universities. The article is a comprehensive coverage of the entire process of training and simulation for training, in particular, the process of organization of individual work. The practical tips and tricks for teacher organization and content of independent work will enable the student to successfully progress in foreign language. The development of individual work as an additional educational direction involves extracurricular activities for students guided by the teacher with the aim of obtaining additional knowledge, which will be necessary for them as professional specialists.
