The Prototype Development of Educational Personnel Management Ontology: EdPM Ontology

Abstract

Effective personnel management requires accurate and complete information. Researcher proposed the prototype of EdPM Ontology for the guidelines to teacher civil servant and educational personnel management including operational staffs with questions about personal management, teacher civil servants and educational personnel. The concept is developed by using knowledge base of ontology technology that presents contents with structures to gathering relevant knowledge in order to explain and check the same meaning of vocabularies. This article intends to present the analysis, design and development of EdPM Ontology. The development is divided into 5 stages: 1) the collection of knowledge, 2) the design of Ontology, 3) the evaluation of content by experts who found that most contents are appropriate but some contents need to improve, 4) the development of OWL Ontology with program Pro TJ which is divided into 12 concepts, and 5) the evaluation of the design by experts which found that overall values is at a high level. ( = 3.94 and S.D. = 0.30) Researcher used the results of evaluation to improve EdPM Ontology effectively and can be applied to the Case-Based Reasoning for the system development of further suggestion.
