The relationship between P53 and EGFR expression with development and progression of endometrial cancer

Journal Title: IOSR Journal of Dental and Medical Sciences (IOSR-JDMS) - Year 2017, Vol 16, Issue 1

Abstract

Endometrial carcinoma (EC) is the most widespread gynecologic malignancy and occupies fourth most common malignancy in women .The study included thirty samples of endometrial cancer's patients .The samples were divided to groups according to staging, grading, muscles and lymph nodes invasiveness and histological types of cancer cells. This study was carried out in Laboratories of the College of Science/ Department of Biology, Wasit University, during period between October 2015 and April 2016.Immunohistochemical technique was used to detection p53 and EGFR expression .We aimed to determine the relationships between p53 and EGFR expression with the histopathological variables involving, stage, grade, muscle and lymph nodes invasiveness and histological types. The results showed highly significant difference of p53 expression according to histological type, as well intensity with stage (P<0.05). Expression and intensity of EGFR showed no significant relationship with all those pathological parameters (P>0.05). The study suggests no relationship between p53 and EGFR expression with development and progression of endometrial cancer.
