The Relationship between Self-Efficacy and Perfectionist Self-Presentation among Adolescents

Abstract
In this study, it was examined whether the adolescents had a correlation with self-efficacy and perfectionist self-presentation levels. It is also examined whether the self-efficacy and perfectionist self-presentation levels of adolescents as a sub-goal are predicted by gender. The study was conducted with 512 students studying in the secondary school in Istanbul. The Personal Information Form developed by the participant researcher, the General Self-efficacy Scale, and the Perceived Self-Presentation Scale for Children and Adolescents adapted by Akın and Akın (2012) were applied. As a result of the correlation analysis, r value was found 0.114 and it was found that the adolescents had a weak positive relationship between self-efficacy and perfectionist self presentation levels (p<0.05). In addition, a T-Test was conducted to determine whether the self-efficacy and perfectionist self-presentation differed by gender. As a result, self-efficacy and perfectionist self-presentation did not differ according to gender (p>0.05).
