The Role of Elastase Antibodies, Circulating Autoantibodies to Glutamate Decarboxylase and Islet Cells Antigens in Chronic Pancreatitis
Journal Title: Гастроентерологія - Year 2014, Vol 4, Issue 54
Abstract
The article presents an analysis of the occurrence of elastase antibodies, circulating autoantibodies to glutamate decarboxylase and islet cells antigens in different forms of chronic pancreatitis. In all patients with chronic pancreatitis we have detected a high frequency of circulating autoantibodies to GADA antigens, indicators of which are the highest in chronic pseudotumor and calculous pancreatitis. The presence of circulating autoantibodies to islet cell antigens is observed in all groups of patients, however, the highest rates were revealed in chronic parenchymatous and calculous pancreatitis. In 70 % of patients with chronic pancreatitis there are being detected elastase antibodies. In chronic pseudotumor pancreatitis with violation of excretory and endocrine functions of the pancreas we have revealed a significant increase in elastase antibodies. Increased elastase antibodies, circulating autoantibodies to glutamate decarboxylase and islet cells antigens in chronic pancreatitis may be indicative of the immune system stress that must be considered during the treatment.
