THE ROLE OF PACKAGING IN LOGISTICS

Abstract
The packaging industry in the modern world is developing very rapidly. Huge costs are an integral part of the total cost of packaging products, forming a significant share of logistics costs.The transfer of most goods from the production sphere to the sphere of consumption is impossible without packaging. The article is devoted to determining the role of packaging as an element of the logistics system, studying and analyzing its role in the supply chain. It is shown that packaging plays a significant role in logistics and performs a number of important functions: protective, storage, transportation, handling, information and utilization.
