The role of proton pump inhibitors in the treatment of chronic pancreatitis. Review and own observation
Journal Title: Сучасна гастроентерологія - Year 2018, Vol 0, Issue 2
Abstract
The article presents analysis of the literature data on the role of acid-producing gastric function in pancreatic secretion. The indications for prescribing the proton pump inhibitors upon chronic pancreatitis are explained on the basis of international recommendations and results of evidence-based trials. Advantages of pantoprazole (Nolpaza) are described. As an example of the effectiveness of Nolpaza in chronic pancreatitis, the authors presented own clinical observation of a patient suffering from calcifying pancreatitis with severe pain syndrome and exocrine pancreatic insufficiency.
