THE ROLE OF THE «ENLIGHTENMENT» COMMUNITY IN THE FORMATION OF UKRAINIAN NATIONAL CONSCIOUSNESS IN TRANSCARPATHIA

Abstract

Summary. A great contribution to the national and cultural revival of the region and establishment of Ukrainian national consciousness has been made by the «Enlightenment» community. It was the first organization of Ukrainian national orientation in Transcarpathia founded in 1920. The role of «Enlightenment» in the national and cultural revival of the land has been elucidated in great number of articles, notes, sketches. One reason of the great contribution of «Enlightenment» is that its founders set real non-conjunctural purpose with minimal possibility to get quick dividends. By the contrast, it required a long and thorough work. It was noted in the «Enlightenment» statute that the main goal of the partnership is "a cultural and economic growth carpathian-russian people, especially in the education of its moral and patriotic spirit." It was a strong resolution that was constantly actualized in printed publications of the «Enlightenment» and other journals. According to macropurpose, «Enlightenment» community formed an effective management structure. Mich attention should pay paid to the problem of governance or management, social and political activities of the «Enlightenment» community and other organizations in those years, as well as to evaluation of their experience. Because the strategy and tactics of cultural and civic education was really of high level. In the 20-30 years the «Enlightenment» community actively cultivated Ukrainian national culture in Transcarpathia. Its persistent everyday cultural work, active patriotic education made it possible to bring Ukrainian national idea and consciousness to the Transcarpathian land. In this function it had a leading role. It was most deeply penetrated into the body of societyand was the most massive organization. The «Enlightenment» community as non-party structure united all without party differences. Finally, it was deprived of all political conjunctures. The activities of the «Enlightenment» community was stable and progressive
