Journal Title: Bilgi Yönetimi - Year 2018, Vol 1, Issue 1
Abstract
Decision-making is one of the most important elements for individuals, institutions, and organizations to maintain their lives and carry out their activities. In institutions and organizations, the decision-making mechanism, which can be defined as the basis of the management process, should be processed and carried out in such a way as to provide the most benefit. An aimless, non-target-oriented and static decision-making process is not very meaningful and productive today. In this framework, there is also a need for a number of support elements to ensure that the decision is correct, target-oriented and consequently successful. These are the most important administrative processes for structuring and operating document/information management systems and for making accurate and success-oriented decisions. In this context, this study was carried out by using descriptive method. Information on the decision making types, processes and situations are given to form a basis for the study. The study focuses on the effects of document/information management on public life and decision-making processes and on the impact of information on document management. It also discusses what the benefits and contributions of document/information management are/can be in the decisionmaking processes and offers suggestions in this regard
