The Sound Distribution Uniformity Throughout the Multifunctional Hall „EUTHERPE”
Journal Title: Romanian Journal of Acoustics and Vibration - Year 2009, Vol 6, Issue 1
Abstract
In order to perform a full estimation of acoustic characteristics of public auditoriums there were defined „acoustic criteria” such as reverberation time, clearness index, intelligibility percent, uniformity index etc. The spatial acoustic uniformity of an auditorium shows the sound distribution and emphasizes the sound level decrease as a function of the distance between the sound source and the auditory position. The paper presents acoustic measurements performed inside „Eutherpe” multifunctional hall of „Spiru Haret” University that is used both as conference hall (universitary courses, talk-shows, conference or symposium meetings) and for musical shows performed by small instrumental groups with or without vocal solists.

The Use of the Friction Pendulum Bearings for Isolation of the Built Environment
Base isolation systems have become a significant element of a structural system to enhance reliability during an earthquake. One type of base isolation system is Friction Pendulum Bearings in which the superstructure is...
Assessing the Sound Absorption of Micro-Perforated Panels by Using the Transfer Function and the Impedance Tube
Micro-perforated panels (MPP) are made and used for decades, a number of researchers proposing to use MPPs for enclosures, featuring the benefits of using them outside as sound barriers, studying the effect of vibration...
DAMAGE DETECTION – ACHIEVEMENTS AND NEW CHALLENGES
In last decades the interest in the capability to monitor structures and detect damage in the incipient stage is omnipresent in civil, mechanical and aerospace engineering. Actual damage detection methods are mainly loca...
Limits of the Discrete Fourier Transform in Exact Identifying of the Vibrations Frequency
This paper present the limitations encountered by using the Discrete Fourier Transform for the analysis of vibration signals. Difficulties in determining the precise frequencies appear particularly in cases where the acq...
A Car Component Subjected to Multiple Sources of Random Vibrations
In this article, the random vibration simulation method applied to a car component is presented. The main vibration sources which appear at the automotive body level are mentioned. By using finite element analysis, one c...
