The spatial differentiation of rural municipalities in protected areas in Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship in 2004–2006

Abstract
The Świętokrzyski Region includes the Świętokrzyskie mountain range, having an area of 2776 km˛ and the population of two hundred and twenty-eight thousand people. The Świętokrzyski Region is very interesting owing to its beautiful landscape and many interesting monuments of culture. Forests and mineral resources become its the natural resources of this region. There are also numerous monuments of Polish history and culture here. These values determine its protective, scientific, tourist and didactic functions. This region has a global system of protective areas, which comprises 62% of total areas. The paper presents an original and as yet unpublished taxonometrical analysis of the economic activity, infrastructure and other factors in the protected area of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship.
