The Study of Economics of Milk Production in Latur District of India

Abstract

An investigation was carried out of to evaluate the economics of milk production in Latur district.of India Udgir tahsil of Latur district was selected purposively because of familiarity of authors to this tahsil. There are 232 villages in this tahsil out of which 10 villages were selected randomly. A list of total number of milk producers was obtained from villages and data collected by interviewing the milk producers with help of questionnaire. From the investigation it is concluded that buffalo contributes the maximum gross returns, total cost of production than the local and cross bred cows
