The study of the History of Cuba in the Medicine career from MartÃ's conceptions

Abstract
Introduction: the dehistoricization campaign is a current problem that requires reinforcing the study of the history. This reason grants all the importance to the study of the History of Cuba in the Medicine career, since the doctor is a leading professional in the current Cuban society. Objective: argue the usefulness of MartÃ's conceptions of the History of Cuba in the teaching-learning process developed in the Medicine career, to contribute to the comprehensive training of the professional. Methodological Design: A total of 22 bibliographic sources from academic search engines such as SciELO, Google Scholar, etc. were identified, as well as queries to books and magazines. The search was limited to the Spanish language. The methods used were of the theoretical type: analysis-synthesis, historical-logical and ascent from the abstract to the concrete. Development: the last decades have imposed on the institutions of the medical sciences, new challenges and new contradictions caused by the profound transformations that have occurred in the socioeconomic, political, technological and scientific fields that have established the new conditions in which the training process takes place of health professionals. Conclusions: the teaching-learning process of the Cuban History discipline in the Medicine career has great potential to transform the future health professional into a subject sensitive to the needs of current Cuban society. Its contents are a vehicle to study the greatest thinker and political leader that our country has produced and to delve into his work.
