THE STUDY OF TRACK GAUGE INFLUENCE ON LATERAL STABILITY OF 4-AXLE RAIL VEHICLE MODEL
Journal Title: Archives of Transport - Year 2014, Vol 30, Issue 2
Abstract
Analysis of lateral stability of rail vehicle model is the subject of present paper. The method used by the author is based on bifurcation diagrams creation and analysis. The continued study of stability of vehicle model in straight track and curved track and form of the results presentation are original features of the method. Results for the straight track and wide range of radii of the curved track are presented jointly on the combined bifurcation diagrams in this paper. Multibody dynamics software VI-Rail was used for numerical analysis. Passenger vehicle model and track models were created. Analysis of track gauge influence on vehicle model stability is main aim of this paper. But analysis of possibility to adopt the method worked out earlier to the newly used numerical code and model of 4-axle vehicle is the aim either.

Study of the derailment safety index Y/Q of the low-floor tram bogies with different types of guidance of independently rotating wheels
Modern tram designs use different conceptions of how to implement the low-floor functionality. The key construction part is the bogie running gear which has to accommodate the lower part of the tram body. To adjust the l...
Traffic fatalities prediction based on support vector machine
To effectively predict traffic fatalities and promote the friendly development of transportation, a prediction model of traffic fatalities is established based on support vector machine (SVM). As the prediction accuracy...
On Some Corrugation Related Dynamical Problems of Wheel/Rail Interaction
We simulate the motion of a corrugated disk over a corrugated track under unilateral elastic contact forces. In particular, the trajectory of the geometrical contact point and the magnitude of normal forces are studied....
Research of Sorting Process of Unit Loads by Rotary Active Fence
The paper presents results of research of a sorting process applied to a stream of unit loads (cubiform objects, parcels) transported on conveyors. The sorting process is performed by means of an active fence (flexible a...
An advanced planner for urban freight delivering
The paper aims at introducing an advanced delivery tour planner to support operators in urban delivery operations through a combined approach which chooses delivery bays and delivery time windows while optimizing the del...
