THE STYLE OF GUN DECOR HETMAN CASTER JOSEPH AND CARP BALASHEVYCHI

Abstract
The article deals with one of the unexplored aspects of the Ukrainian historical artillery. The study is based on the surviving samples of bronze Cannon barrels 1692–1717, cast Joseph and Carp Balashevychi. Analysis of stylistic features of cannons Glukhiv’s masters. Allocated to the original ways of decorating purchased items, the basic motives of décor and the principles of their use in the guns design. The author puts forward the hypothesis regarding the origin of the masters Balashevichi. Traces the evolution of their artistic thinking. Based on a few examples of cannons attribution (the beginning of the XVIII century), shows how you can apply the research practice knowledge about artistic style caster
