Journal Title: Мова - Year 2016, Vol 0, Issue 26

Abstract

The globalization and heterogeneity in the development of terminology of innovative areas of knowledge are topical scientific problems in modern linguistics. One of such innovative field of knowledge is Medical Aesthetology, i. e. aesthetic surgery and medicine. The terminology of aesthetic surgery is the object of this study. The subject of this research is the identification of productive and non-productive ways of formation of the new terminology in the field of aesthetic surgery. Through the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the selected aesthetic medical terminology samples, the study aimed to generate a detailed description of formation methods of the terminological units characteristic of the German language and deduce the term building asymmetry in comparison with Polish and French. The review demonstrated that the rejection of neoclassical formatives, which are superseded by the increasing of English morphemes and tokens, has an influence on the word and term formation levels. This process affects the productivity of terms derivative ways. Examples of these and other phenomena are descriptively presented in this article. There are findings that conclude that the German medical aesthetology tools are different from those of Polish and French in their explicit derivation, loyalty and a lower degree of the borrowed lexemes assimilation. The globalization and heterogeneity in the development of terminology of innovative areas of knowledge are actual scientific problems in modern linguistics. The subject of this research is the identification of productive and unproductive ways of formation of the new terminology in the field of aesthetic surgery. Through the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the selective aesthetic medical terminology sampling, the study aimed to generate a detailed description of formation methods of the terminological units corresponding to German language and deduce the term building asymmetry in comparison with Polish and French languages. The review demonstrated that the rejection of neoclassical formatives, which are superseded by the increasing of English morphemes and tokens, have the influence on the word and term formation levels. This process affects the performance of terms derivative ways. Examples of these and other phenomena descriptively have presented in this article. There are findings that conclude that the German medical aesthetology tools are different from that of Polish and French by its explicit derivation, loyalty and lower degree of borrowed lexemes assimilation.
