AXIONYM LEPOTA («BEAUTY») IN THE SERBIAN LINGUAL CULTURE

Abstract
The article deals with the structure and the axiological meaning of the concept LEPOTA in the Serbian lingual culture. The object of the study is the basic system of the values pertains to the lingual and cultural community, which is realized as an evaluative (axiological) worldview. The subject of research is the axiological value of the concept ‘lepota’ in Serbian. The purpose of the study are analyze and axiological meaning of the axionym ‘lepota’ (‘Beauty’), it describes the structure and content of the semantic field of lexical item and the place of axiologem ‘Beauty’ in the Serbian language and culture. Multilevel lingual units and phenomena associated with the vocabulary, word formation, phraseology of the Serbian language and cultural connotations of the studied units were investigated. Methods of semantic, etymological, comparative analysis, historical and descriptive methods are used in this linguistic research. Finding of research: having analyzed the meaning of the basic word, its derivatives and idioms, we can assume that the lexeme LEPOTA is a major cultural concept. The number of derivatives, usage frequency and a vast corpus testify to the axiological dominance of the studied concept in the Serbian linguaculture with a variety of language representations, a wide semantic volume and cultural connotation and, thus, needs special attention while teaching Serbian as a foreign language. The axionym LEPOTA has a syncretic meaning, expresses physical, moral and ethical beauty.
