The Vitamin B6 Content of Kepok Banana: an Alternative to Overcome Nausea for Pregnant Women

Abstract
KepokBanana contains vitamin B, namely thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, and vitamin B6 (piridoxin). The content of vitamin B6 in banana is quite high. In addion, to funcon as a coenzyme for some internal reaconsmetabolism, vitamin B6 plays a role in synthec and metabolismprotein, especially serotonin.Vitamin B6 benefits increase the development of central nervous system cells in the fetus and reduce morning sickness. Pregnant women need vitamin B6 is 1.9 milligrams a day.This research purposes to knowthevitaminB6contentoepokbananatoemesis gravidarumin the first trimester. The research method using experiment in Laboratory by HPLC method (High Performance Liquid Chromatography).Based on the results of the examinaon in laboratoryshowed that kepok banana consisng of 3 kinds of consumpon contain vitamin B6 0.2022 mg/ml in unripe kepok banana, 0.2530 mg/ml in ripe kepok banana, and 0.3646 mg/ml in boiled kepok banana. In conclusion,the highestcontent of vitamin B6 in kepok banana is boiledkepok banana for 40 minutes that the content of B6 can reduce emesis gravidarum in pregnant woman in the first trimester.
