THE WORLD OF EASTERN GALICIA AND BUKOVINA

Abstract
The article analyzes the book by Martin Pollack “To Galicia. About the Hasidim, Hutsuls, Poles and Rusyns. Imaginary journey to the missing world of Eastern Galicia and Bukovina”, which was published in Chernivtsi in 2017 a “Publishing House 21”. In the book you can find a critical acquaintance with the many historical realities of the XIX – early XX centuries about Galicia and Bukovina. The cities of Eastern Galicia are shown: Peremyshl, Drohobych, Sambir, Naguevichi, Stryi, Stanislav, Zhabie, Kolomyia, Lviv (Lemberg) and Bukovyna cities: Chernivtsi, Sadgory. The book contains statistical materials, a description of the material and spiritual culture of Ukrainians (Rusyns), Poles, Romanians, Hutsuls, Armenians, Karaites, Germans, Roma and representatives of other ethnic groups living in these cities.
