THE WRITER'S HERITAGE OF M. GOGOL IN THE UKRAINIAN BALLET THEATER AT THE ABROAD OF THE XX–XXI CENTURIES

Abstract
In the article the role of the writer's legacy of the classic of Ukrainian and Russian literature of Gogol in the development of the national ballet theater of the end of the XX – beginning of the XXI century is investigated. The features of the choreographic productions "The Night Before Christmas", "Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka", " Vij", "May Night" embodied on the ballet stage of Ukraine are considered. It was noted that the basis for the choreographic decision of the performances by the ballet masters V. Litvinov ("The Night Before Christmas") and G. Kovtun ("Vij") was based on the principles of dance mise-en-scene full of poetic convention and folkloric imagery, the wide attraction of structural and compositional techniques of Ukrainian folk dance, the invention of a clear plastic and dramatic figure of actors in accordance with their literary characteristics.
